The specifications you provided are intended to serve as a guide. Once we receive your order, we will get in touch within a few days with an initial design. We can then proceed and make as many changes as you like until you're satisfied.

We offer a personalised Bat ID service for all new Fantail bats.
Choose up to 10 characters to be vinyl cut and applied onto your new Fantail cricket bat.

Please allow an additional 3-6 working days for your service add-ons to be completed.

Knocking In:

We highly recommend giving your new cricket bat the best start to life with a Fantail knocking-in service. We apply a coat of linseed oil, then combine hand knocking of the edges and toe with our state-of-the-art Smart Knocking in machine to complete the process.

Facings

Facings help protect and prolong the life of your cricket bat by adding a barrier to protect the blade from damage, moisture and dirt. We recommend facings for all cricket bats.

The clear anti-scuff facing  is recommended for all bats as it offers a better protective layer than the fibre face.

The fibre facing is a slightly lighter and thinner option, which is why you'll notice a lot of professional cricketers use them.

Toe Guard:

A toe guard is designed to protect the toe of a cricket bat from wear and tear and to slow the rate at which the toe absorbs moisture.

Our Rubber toe guard adds a thick layer of protection between the toe and surface. It's excellent for preventing excess moisture and damage from creasing, tapping, and sliding your bat.

Our Fibre-Epoxy Toe guard is considerably harder than the rubber option, which supports the vulnerable corners of the toe. If you are a hard crease tapper or have problems with cracking of the toe, then this is the recommended option.

Our Cloth-Epoxy toe guard isn't recommended for new bats. Instead, it's intended for bats that have substantial toe damage. We wrap a high-strength water-resistant cloth tape around the base and surrounding areas of the toe, then apply epoxy to harden the structure. This option provides the most significant support and slows the rate of further cracking.

Average Weights (this differs based on the thickness of the toe):
Rubber: 4g
Fibre-Epoxy: 9g
Cloth-Epoxy: 11g

10 Star Masterpiece Custom MTO Bat for Sri Lanka ♥️♥️♥️

My "Trust" towards fantail cricket; built upon mainly due to their; YouTube channel, clear Website Descriptions on MTO bat selection criterias such as weight differences, handle types, toes, sweet spots etc etc; More than one month continuous email communication on the design; Freedom of customize within the ICC gauge standards; Allowing cleft selection as per customer request, Expression of "refund of advance payments for reserving clefts in GL-EW range if not satisfied", transparency in payment gateway; Automatic Conversation of currency during online purchasing; clear instructions on DHL deliveries and it's time frames, Automatic email messages on delivery updates etc etc.

Upon receiving the bat, I was "overjoyed" with the efforts; Blake and his team put into creating a superior PING range GP-EW MTO bat. Also, other services such as threading, fiber-epoxy toe guards etc all up to higher quality finishing.

Also, the quality of GP - E willow even with 7/8 grain's is "highly satisfied" and seems Blake giving endless efforts to maintain proper cleft standards. Received the bat with proper Courier Packaging that safeguard during long flight hours and DHL charges were very reasonable.

Overall, Blake and his team was able to create "Value for Money."
I wish him to continue the same standard for all other customers.

Love from Sri Lanka.😊❤️♥️

My first custom bat

It was an exciting experience to design the bat and I really appreciated how Blake was patient and thoughtful during the whole process. I just received the bat and it looks and sounds incredible. I am looking forward to using it soon and scoring some runs! I was initially skeptical because I was ordering from the US but just amazed at how seemless this has been. Thanks Blake and Fantail

Great Pick-Up and Overall Weight Distribution of the Bat

Firstly thank you Blake, for the designs and suggestions. First looks loved the stickers and the profile. Been using it in the nets to get a good feel. Great Willow, and makes a fantastic sound when the ball hits the sweat spot.

Love the soft grips as well. Lower of bat needs bit of knocking. Waiting to unleash it during a game soon.

Thanks, Once again.

Custom short handle - Big Bat

With edges well and truly over 39mm and an enormous swell depth this could be the best of the “big bats”. I like the balance, makes the bat feel more like 2.9 - 2.10 - actual weight being 2.13.

Love the big bat Blake.

Looking forward to see the indoor collection as well.

Fantail Custom Cricket Bat

Very happy with bat performance. Bat has a great middle. Was quite picky on what we wanted. Of course leant a bit on Blakes expertise as well. Specifically looked for a lower middle bat with a good balance.

Custom Bat Review

My custom fantail cricket bat has brought me nothing but successfull innings and performances. This bats smart and full profile has been able to help me score match winning totals. E.g my most recent innings of 123 off 119 balls with a total of 15 4's and 4 6's. When in game I can also trust my bat for the times I don't time or middle the ball, because I know that the full profile has a forgiving nature in the sense that a miss time won't effect the result of the shot as much as it would with other bats. On the other side of the scale, when the ball is timed and middled well the rewards of the shot are substantionally better then all the bats I have used in the past meaning effortless 4's and massive 6's. Overall my experience with my fantail bat has been very pleasing and highly recommend this bat to anyone who is wanting to take their game to the next level.

CONSTRUCTION

In October 2017, the new MCC laws on cricket bat sizes came into effect for the professional game. The new regulations specify that the maximum dimensions of a cricket bat will be 108mm in blade width, 67mm in spine height, and 40mm in edges. You have the option if you'd like your custom bat to comply with this standard.

Bow & Face

Our pressing technique generates a balanced bowed blade to deliver increased power and control. Our modern face allows for enhanced shot placement. The edges are boned (hardened) to strengthen and decrease the chance of cracking.

Sweetspot

The sweet spot or middle of the bat is the blade area where you achieve the most significant amount of power. Therefore, if you have a bat with a high sweet spot, you must regularly hit the ball high on the blade to get the best out of the bat.

When choosing the spine position, remember the higher you go, the better the pickup.

We allow you to have a different spine peak position from the edge. An offset edge and spine are designed to lengthen the middle, improving the pickup and balance. This option is optimal if you like a low sweet spot.

High

A high sweet spot is 25cm to 28cm from the toe. This bat suits a player who opens or plays the ball late & prefers playing short-pitched bowling off the back foot. The weight distribution is higher up the blade, meaning that the bat speed is improved. This type of bat suits batters who like to cut, hook and pull.

Central

A bat with the central sweet spot is positioned 22cm to 24cm from the toe. Such a bat suits a batter who plays a full range of shots and still wants an excellent pick-up.

Low

A low sweet spot ranges from 14cm to 17cm from the toe. This type of bat is ideal for a player who enjoys driving the ball and playing aggressively. It is especially suitable for wickets with little bounce. The pick-up may feel less balanced because the willow's mass is concentrated closer to the toe.

Profile

Full

With little to no scallop, wood is left where it is essential to ensure performance. If performance is your priority, then this should be the focus. This is the shape that most professional cricketers seek because it offers maximum forgiveness when hitting off-centre. However, a full profile significantly increases the weight, which means it's not usually possible on lightweight bats.

Semi-Concaved

Semi-concaving balances concaved and full, allowing an even distribution of willow through the edges and spine while maintaining good off-centre power. This is especially suited to lightweight bats as the concaving is required to reduce the bat's weight.

Concaved

Concaving allows a maximum spine and edge. However, off-centre strikes aren't as powerful as a full profile. Weight is removed through the back of the blade whilst keeping a high edge and spine. This is an excellent option if you're after an imposing edge and spine.

TOE SHAPE

round

A round toe allows us to keep more willow through the hitting zone. Compared to a square toe, a round toe increases the bat's longevity by removing the sharp, vulnerable corners that can lead to cracking. It also helps you slide your bat into the crease with ease.

Semi-round

Compared to a square toe, a semi-round toe increases the longevity of the bat by removing the sharp, vulnerable corners that can lead to cracking. The semi-round toe also assists you in sliding your bat into the crease with ease.

Square

International players have widely used a square toe as it makes the blade appear wider and is stable while in stance. The drawback is that the corners are prone to damage and digging into the pitch when sliding.

Handle Shape

Round

The round handle is popular in the subcontinent and best suited to those who use their bottom hand and wrists for control and power.

Semi-Oval

The semi-oval handle is our most popular choice as it gives you the best of both styles. It allows for a consistent and comfortable feel for most batsmen. The semi-oval shape on the bottom hand also gives the bat a better directional feel & means that the bottom hand isn't dominant, enabling the top hand to control the shot.

Oval

The oval handle provides more strength to the handle as the circumference is larger. The oval shape on the bottom hand also gives the bat a better directional feel & means that the bottom hand isn't dominant, enabling the top hand to control the shot.

BAT WEIGHTS

The general rule is light bats for the controlled players and slightly heavier bats for the aggressive and attacking stroke-makers.

Heavier bats have a slower bat speed than lighter bats. The effort required to move the bat increases as the weight of the bat increases. A lighter bat will allow faster bat speed and increase the chance of middling the ball. A heavier bat will not be comparatively easy to middle the ball with, but it will stay hit when you connect with it.

Light (2lbs 6oz - 2lbs 8oz): We recommend this weight range if you are moving to your first full-size bat or into the finishing stages of your playing career, as it may help if you carry a lingering injury

Standard (2lbs 9oz - 2lbs 10oz): Most professional cricketers use a bat of this weight. It is an excellent balance between bat speed and bat performance.

Heavy (2lbs 11oz +): From 2lbs 11oz, you get a bat less about bat speed and more about blade performance. This weight range is for players who want to score their runs through boundaries and want a large and imposing bat.

additional information box

We encourage you to give us as much information as possible. Whether that is replicating your current bat, a bat you've found online or creating a new shape altogether.

If you're not sure what would suit you, let us know your playing style, pitches you play on, best & worst shots, formats you play, bats that you've previously used and what you liked/disliked about them, age & build we will then design a shape based on the information you provide that moulds to your game.

Remember the specifications you provide are to give us a guide. Once we receive your order, we will be in touch within a few days with an initial design. We can then proceed or make as many changes as you like until you're happy.
